Questions to Ask During Travel Health Consultation
- Do I need to have vaccination(s) prior to embarking on my trip? (Please bring your itinerary with you for consultation)
- What shall I put into my medical travel kit?
- Which countries and states are malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases risk areas? How shall I prevent them from happening?
- Are there any advice for personal hygiene?
- Shall I take measures to guard against altitude sickness?
Advices to Travelers
- Take out suitable travel insurance in advance
- Take road safety measures, including wearing safety belts while driving, wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle and avoiding night driving
- Practice safe sex to prevent HIV & AIDs and other sexually transmitted diseases
- Avoid intake of unclean food and water
- Avoid direct exposure to sun, wear sun block and suitable clothes to protect your skin
- Avoid close contact with animals. Visit a doctor and seek treatment if you had been bitten/scratched by animal to avoid rabies infection
