How do your donations help?
For people with emotional distress
Living in a fast-paced city, Hong Kong citizens are prone to emotional sickness thanks to negative emotions and stress. It is UCN’s responsibility to give a hand to those in need. The Emotional Health and Counselling Centre of UCN serves the community with the principal of “positive psychology”, providing psychology education, assessment and treatment. The Centre organises talks, workshops, seminars and professional training to enhance psychological quality among society.
Supports for the elderly
Population ageing is critical nowadays. UCN spots medical needs from the elderly. Senior residences are in one-fourth among UCN total service users. Our services are essential to them. To soothe their burdens in medical expenses, seniors aged 60 or above enjoy different service discounts. UCN also put efforts into health education and disease prevention as we see the importance of prevention apart from professional medicine.
Establishing a friendly community for people with chronic diseases
According to the Hong Kong Government, 70% of the elderly have chronic diseases, mainly hypertension, heart attack, stroke etc. Either the patients or their family members, or their carers are stressed and living with heavy burdens.
For this, UCN established the Good Neighbour Network. The objective is to bring all the community members, such as volunteers and neighbours, to support chronically ill patients and carers, improve their living quality, ease their burdens on the way to rehabilitation and ageing in place.
