Pilot Scheme for Adolescents (PDCC)
Programme Overview
PDCC guides adolescents to foster long-term relationship with private dentists or dentists of NGOs by subsidising part of the cost of dental check-up, so as to promote their life-long habit of regular dental check-ups for prevention of dental diseases. Each eligible person can receive the subsidised services once every calendar year from a participating dentist of his or her choice who have enrolled in the programme. The Scheme Participant is required to pay a co-payment fee.
Scope of Subsidised Services
Each eligible person can receive the subsidized services once every calendar year.
- Oral health risk assessment
- Dental check-up
- Dental scaling
- Personalised self-care advice on oral care
- Fluoride application as risk-based follow-up
- Check-up report
Target Beneficiaries
- Adolescent aged 13 to 17;
- Holds a valid Hong Kong Identity Card; and,
- Has joined the Electronic Health Record Sharing System (eHealth).
Co-payment
The Government will provide a partial subsidy of $200 annually. The Scheme Participant is required to pay the co-payment fee determined by the dentist upon enrolment to the Programme.
