Jockey Club WeWATCH Health Lifestyle Project
The Jockey Club “WeWATCH Healthy Lifestyle Project" aims to help middle-aged individuals improve their lifestyle habits, prevent or delay the onset of chronic diseases. The programme is the first public health project in Hong Kong to use the "lifestyle medicine" model to help the public prevent chronic diseases. It will run from 2023 to 2025 with a target of recruiting over 20,000 people for screening and providing eligible individuals with personalized health management guidance.
Qualified participants will receive personalized health management guidance using the "lifestyle medicine" intervention model for a period of 6 months. Under the guidance of health management coaches, they will develop awareness of healthy living, learn methods to maintain healthy lifestyle habits, and persistently practice the concept of "prevention is better than cure".
This programme is generously sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and organized by the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, together with four local non-governmental social service organisations - St. James' Settlement, Christian Family Service Centre, United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service and Hong Kong YWCA.
