Smoking Cessation Programme for Ethnic Minorities and New Immigrants (Smoking Cessation Programme)
The smoking cessation programme was established in 2013 with the funding support from Department of Health, Tobacco and Alcohol Control Office. The objectives are:
- To promote a one-stop smoking cessation service in Hong Kong
- To provide smoking cessation service which addresses the specific needs in particular the language and cultural differences of ethnic minority groups
- To promote smoke-free culture in Hong Kong as the norm

- Clinic based counselling and treatment for nicotine addiction
- Education to the public on smoking and health
- Community based outreach
Service Mode
1. Clinic-based free smoking cessation services
- Provide smokers with assessment, individual face-to-face counseling and motivational interviewing by health professional, counselor and trained health workers.
- Provide free Pharmacotherapy (Nicotine and Non Nicotine replacement therapy)
- In addition to phone follow up, send text messages (e.g. SMS, WhatsApp and FB) to follow up clients for a year.
You can book our service through our quitline at 3156 9012. Clinics with smoking cessation service located in Tin Shui Wai, Tai Po, Jordan and Kwun Tong.
2. “Mail to Quit” Service (Free delivery of smoking cessation medication (Nicotine-Replacement-Therapy))
- To reach out to more smokers in need to provide flexibility and accessibility in receiving NRT
- After telephone assessment, eligible persons will receive free medication by post, supplemented by telephone counselling and follow-up.
3. Quit Easy Service
"Quit Easy" offers 1 week NRT to eligible smokers to provide a quick and easy option to quit smoking.
