Jockey Club WeWATCH Health Lifestyle Project aims to help middle-aged people to improve their lifestyle habits and prevent or delay chronic diseases.
The project is the first public health project in Hong Kong to use the Lifestyle Medicine model to help prevent chronic diseases. It will be carried out from 2023 to 2025 and aims to recruit over 20,000 participants for screening and provide health management guidance to eligible persons.
Participants will receive six months of personalised health management coaching using Lifestyle Medicine as the intervention model. Under the guidance of a health management coach, they will develop an awareness of healthy living, learn how to maintain healthy habits, and practice "prevention is better than cure" in the long run.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the project is run by the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in collaboration with four local NGOs - St. James' Settlement, Christian Family Service, and the Hong Kong Association for the Prevention of Disease.
