Smoking Cessation Project for Ethnic Minorities and New Immigrants

Objectives

  • To promote one-stop services of smoking cessation among the EM and NI.
  • To provide smoking cessation services that address the specific needs of ethnic minority groups, in particular language and cultural differences
  • To promote a smoke-free culture in Hong Kong as the norm for EM and NI.

Target Groups

  • Ethnic minorities and new immigrants of Hong Kong

Core Service

  • Education on health issues related to smoking
  • Outreach and clinic based-counseling
  • Treatment on nicotine addiction

Other Services (Quit Ambassador Training)

  • To provide basic knowledge on the harmful effects of smoking
  • To engage in different outreach health campaigns to promote the message of smoking cessation
