Opening of Wellness Centre

Wellness Centre was opened in December 2002. Services included acupuncture therapy, physical fitness assessment and training, healthy cookery classes and healthy image care.


Introduction of Physiotherapy Service

To meet the public demand, we started providing exercise therapy and body joint assessment services by physiotherapist.


Relocation of HQs

HQ was relocated to 4/F, Block F, United Christian Hospital on 15 Feb 2003


Formation of Integrated Home Care Service

Restructuring of service resulted in the establishment of 'Integrated Home Care Service', replacing the former Tai Po Home Help Service with effect from 1 April 2003.


Establishment of United Centre of Emotional Health and Positive Living (UCEP)


Opening of the Chinese Medicine Clinical Research and Service Centre

The Chinese Medicine Clinical Research and Services Centre was established in December 1993 in line with government policy on developing the Chinese medicine. The centre was later renamed as 'Nethersole Chinese Medicine Service cum the Chinese University of Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Clinical Training and Research Centre'. Since then, the Chinese Medicine Division has been expanding to serve people of different locations.

FHCHC was renovated with an additional Dental Consultation Room

The project titled 'Dental Service Expansion for Community Elderly & Disadvantaged in Tai Po' was sponsored by the Board of Management of the 'Chinese Permanent Cemeteries' to cope with the growing needs. An extra dental consultation room was added in FHCHC to cope with the growing needs.


Establishment of Tseung Kwan O Good Neighbour Network



BKTCHC was renovated with an extra Dental Consultation Room

The expansion of dental service continued with the execution of project titled 'Expansion of Community Oral Health and Dental Service in East Kowloon', which was sponsored by S K Yee Medical Foundation. An extra dental consultation room was added in BKTCHC to cope with the growing needs.


Formation of South Asian Health Support Program

This health promotion programme funded by The Community Chest targeted at the South Asian ethnic minorities, particularly the Indian, Nepali and Pakistani communities, hoping to improve their health profile and help them access local health services.


Introduction of Pathology Laboratory (PATH) & Diagnostic Imaging Services

The opening of pathology laboratory marked the new era for UCN with the successful development of E-reporting system. Diagnostic imaging was also set up in KFCHC and Jockey Club WLCHC, serving our patients and other medical organisations.


FHCHC started providing Chinese Medicine Service



Relocation of UCN Jordan Health Centre

To enhance the quality of service and medical equipments, Jordan Community Health Centre was renamed as 'UCN Jordan Health Centre' and relocated to 13/F, Sino Cheer Plaza, No. 23 Jordan Road, Kowloon.


Opening of UCN Jordan Health Centre (Integrated Service)

Another Jordan Health Centre was established for providing Chinese Medicine Service and various psycho-educational services to meet the needs of different people in our community.


Re-opening of WLCHC

With the generous donation from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, 'Wo Lok Community Health Centre' was renovated to provide a comfortable environment and to accommodate clients' evolving needs. The newly renovated centre was renamed as 'Jockey Club Wo Lok Community Health Centre'.


Relocation of PATH

To cope with the future development of laboratory service, our Pathology Laboratory was relocated to Room 606-07, 6/F Futura Plaza, 111-113 How Ming Street, Kwun Tong with effect from 27 September 2010. Besides, Pathology Laboratory upgraded the lab system in 2011 with the purchase of new analyser.

UCN received the Outstanding Health Promotion Project (Anti-smoking) Award

Dr Joyce Tang, Medical Director of UCN, received the Outstanding Health Promotion Project (Anti-smoking) Award at the Health Promotion Symposium 2011 organised by the Food and Health Bureau. The award symbolises the achievement of UCNCHS in anti-smoking campaign.
